it's the ultimate resource. If there was one or several Islamic countries armed with nukes, we'd probably see a big conventional war between them and Israel. Besides I don't think that the collective consciousness of Israel or at least part of it is so concerned in being seen as a "pariah". What's happening right now is that Israel is nuking Lebanon minus the radioactivity. The effect is already of Hiroshima scale in the south. But the world has difficulties to understand that it's not that difficult to achieve 10 Kt with conventional explosives. It takes just a bit more time.
