Rove, Bloomberg, GOP senate candidates in Washington and Minnesota (among others) are coming out for Lieberman. Why? They are betting that Joe will win in November as an Independent and they expect that they will lose some seats in the Senate perhaps enough where control of the chamber comes down to who wins in CT. They know that most democrats are endorsing Lamont, so if they come out for Holy Joe they will say, "look we were with you--will you be with us now?" and as an "Independent" they are hoping that Joe will then caucus with them rather than the Democrats.
