3. That video came up for discussion on my union BBS, several hours earlier.
Here's my responses to the dialog:

Bill, I really don't know what this has to do with Bush and his corporate-friendly appointments. But I'm also on the email list of that Jerusalem Post, and get periodic bulletins from them. You may recall my posting the following on this BBS last year: http://www.aish.com/a/startingover.asp

But I must have overlooked the one you cited. Frankly, I find it ambiguous and ultimately unconvincing. Are they trying to imply that this Lebanon invasion is some sort of a "clean" surgical strike, with almost NO "collateral damage"? Here are a few other photographs that would be hard to photoshop:

and
http://www.middle-east-online.com/english/?id=17034
There are plenty more.

And that "Little Green Footballs" weblog cited there, is a loooong way from being an unbiased and "reliable" source. Here's one write-up: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Green_Footballs

The irony of all this is that up to about 20~30 years ago, the vast majority of such ultra far-right whackos were virulently anti-Semitic! Now fancy that!

I was just following that same story at Media Matters: http://mediamatters.org/items/200608080001 The "issue" of photo-doctoring is relatively trivial, compared to al those others that depict UNMISTAKABLE death and destruction, and on a large and indiscriminate scale.

So I'll give that idiot Bush a break for a while, and follow up on your hijacking of this thread. ************************************************************************************************
I had carelessly repeated the webpage a few clicks above. Here's what I had intended for the second link: http://www.outlookindia.com/full.asp?fodname=20060809&fname=dahrjamail&sid=1
Needless to say, there are plenty more such horrible photos --- on each side. Here's what was in the Jerusalem Post I got an hour ago: http://www.yad-ezra.org/

But it's not all mindless warmongering in Israel, despite all thosed PNAC Chicken-hawks squirting lighter fluid on the bonfire. "Israeli refuseniks oppose war on Lebanon": http://ww4report.com/node/2226

By an eerie coincidence, I'd been watching the DVD of "PRISONER of HONOR" when this discussion began: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0001LJCTI/ref=sr_11_1/104-6108213-4299929?ie=UTF8 The movie was very close to historical fact. Colonel Picquart, a flawed man and an anti-Semite to boot, was a prisoner of his own honor. His struggle for honor, truth, and justice against almost insurmountable odds, almost destroyed him. But in doing so, he fought for the ultimate honor of his country, as well as the rest of the human race. Now, more than ever, this world needs such prisoners of honor.

It doesn't quite satisfactorarily "explain" contract photographers "cutting corners, but it helps put it in the proper perspective.
