I love reading what everyone on DU has to say about what's going on.

I wish people would look at what they're hearing and seeing in the news with a healthy dose of skepticism; maybe we're not being taught how to think critically in school (or from our families).

I remember one class in high school which exposed me to advertising, and showed how the ads manipulate people into wanting to buy the product. We need to be taught to "think outside the box". However, it appears that with legislation like "no child left behind", there won't be any room for discussions on critical thinking. The last thing a dictator like George Bush wants is a population of critical thinkers.
