3. here's my LTE on Lamont/Lieberman race:
Lieberman's Become Addicted To Power
To The Editor Of The Day:

Published on 8/12/2006 in Editorial » Letters to The Editor

On Tuesday, Aug. 8, the people of Connecticut spoke. We chose Ned Lamont because we need a senator who will stand up to the George W. Bush administration, not one who acts as an apologist for Mr. Bush's failed policies.
Instead of graciously bowing out, Sen. Lieberman has chosen to run as an Independent. This does nothing but divide Democrats and help Republican congressional candidates. It is obvious that Sen. Lieberman does not care about his party, or the people of Connecticut. All he cares about is remaining a senator.

Sen. Lieberman is part of the Washington political elite, and he will do anything to retain the status quo. Why does Sen. Lieberman believe that he is the only person who can represent Connecticut? It is vanity pure and simple, for that's what Sen. Lieberman's new campaign is rooted in: vanity, ego, and a power trip that has lasted 18 years too long.
