91. Fail-Safe! Holy crap that was a great movie!

I watched it this weekend also, having read the book and first seen the movie decades ago. It is still a masterpiece.

Funny how some of the hawk types (I think it was Walter Matthau's character who wanted to take that opportunity to go ahead and finsih off Russia) seem awfully contemporary. Who'da thought there were neo-cons in the 60s?

Also funny (NOT!) was the disclaimer at the end: "It is the position of the Dept. of Defense that the type of event depicted in this film could never happen." I almost shat my pants!
