racism, bigotry in all of its' forms became OK the day the Dimson** stepped into office.

No, I'm not kidding. People who I was friendly with for years all of a sudden started calling me names (the n word lover, gay lover, damned librul bitch) and so forth. My relatives became much more open with their bigoted spewings, also.

It was almost as if it was the new 'trendy' thing to do. I honestly felt as if I can been catapulted back into the 1950's and I wasn't even on the planet yet. Frustrating to say the least because it seemed (seems now) for every decade of progress made it only takes 1 bigoted asshole with a following to set everything back so that the process must begin again. And I can't even begin to imagine what 'people of color' have experienced or how they feel.
