28. It was a different time then
We were the minority in a big way then. Most of america at the time was still swallowing the bush pr hook line and sinker. Hell if you weren't on board then you were a terrorist. Funny how Bush is trying to return us to that right now.

The information that it all stunk wasn't really readily available back then like it is now sort of, it took digging. The people that found this place back then were really swimming against the stream back then. We knew something wasn't right but finding out exactly what it was wasn't as readily available as it is today. Blogs were really just starting to take off then.

I cant take credit for any of the great investigative digging that went on here then. I was just reading everything I could get my hands on at the time of the run up to the war. To try and figure out what the hell was really going on and stumbled on this place. There were and really still are some great investigators here though at the time. Will pitt of course comes to everyones mind immediately but there were many others. Wonk also was contributing tons of great stuff back then and so many others that its impossible to name them all.

I guess my point is really that at the time the only place there really was to get alternative opinions and research at the time was here for a lot of us and it was almost self feeding the more people dug the more others dug.

If you do searches for posts titled DATA DUMP from back then you will probably find reams of info from the time right before the war all the way to the 2004 elections. The volumes of info posted here back then were amazing and could easily be put together into an amazing historical perspective of the time.

So many of the great posters from them are still around but the tone here has definitely changed. This place still rocks though
even if you do have to wade through countless celebrity threads theres still plenty of great info here.

Thanks again for posting this though it brings me back to a time when I thought either america had lost its mind or I had. This place saved my sanity back then and armed me for the day to day garbage I faced every day on the streets. I wouldn't go back to those days as we are just barely starting to turn the corner now. But I guess kinda like falling off your motor cycle as a kid trying to take that big jump and really smashing yourself up at the time it wasn't fun at all but looking back on it you feel quite nostalgic about it.

Sorry for the book :P
