...as in "how dare you suggest that the President doesn't have the authority to protect Americans from terrorists?" :eyes:

The question will be how the press reacts. As you mention, they became more combative over the last month or so. It remains to be seen whether they've "lost their edge" over the break, or, worse, whether they've decided that, since Bush's poll numbers are now in the mid-40s rather than the low-40s, he's "in the middle of a comeback," and thus they should back off. :grr:
