Interesting AMNews book review

In my hubby's last week's AMNews, the AMA's weekly publication in addition to JAMA, they have a good review of "False Alarm: The Truth about the Epidemic of Fear" by Marc Siegel, MD.

The excerpt is well-written, and it sounds like an interesting read. His bit on the flu vaccine shortage is really interesting. Basically, his premise is that we are all being kept in fear of stuff that rationally makes no sense.

I'm going to find it and read it. If the AMA thinks it's worth reading, I usually skip it, but this one looks better than what they usually recommend.
