CLEVELAND -- Ohio's prison department is going to cut 700 jobs, which is 5 percent of the work force, in an effort to save money.

The cuts do not affect corrections officers, parole officers, teachers or nurses.

On Tuesday, the inmate population in Ohio reached an all-time high with about 50,000 inmates.

Because of that, the prison department couldn't close any facilities.
