that covered all of the necessary bases.

I lean toward Ben on this but don't completely dismiss Cenk's point, even though I don't think he's really right on this one.

As for "safe choices", I believe he's trying to say those are top, popular artists people are familiar with. Not that they're "safe" in the sense that they have non controversial, clean lyrics, etc.
