You don't have to live in the housing provided by the farm labor contractor, but most do. If you don't speak Spanish, you won't be able to communicate with most of your coworkers. If you can't hack stoop labor with nothing between you and the blazing sun except a straw hat for 8 hours a day, then you won't last.

Are you sure you want to pick tomatoes and green beans for a living? How about laying roofing tar or asbestos removal?

Yes, there are jobs most of us avoid.
