Maybe because "our guy" was in the big house we thought we didn't need to protest because he was on our side. You know all that "hold my feet to the fire", "Hope", "Change" stuff.

More fool us hey?

"If you don't turn out to vote in 2010 Republicans might take the house / senate" just wasn't a very inspirational incentive to vote. For many, Repubs controlling the Congress wouldn't look much different.

In 2008 we pushed, we won, we got shafted..... Who's going to sign up for another 4 years of that?
