As a paraprofessional, the biggest issue I had was trying get students to stay on task. Homework would not be complete. Notes would not get signed by the parents. Parents will never attend PTA Meetings, never check on their child's scholastic progress, or return phone calls. The student knows that their parents are not going to do any disciplining for their misbaving in school. To make things worse, the parent will come to the school and blame the school for their child's discipline issues.

We would have open houses at the begining of the school year and there will only ten or twelve parents that would attend. These are some of things that I had to go through while I worked in the school system.
