161. Alex Keaton Was A Stereotype
Edited on Thu May-07-09 08:14 PM by NashVegas
Of a subset of young people, particularly young white males, who loved Reagan for reasons no one quite understood.

I always suspected it may have been linked to a combination of being born during a time of massive divorce rates in the era when it was still believed "kids bounce back on their own," and when sexual mores changed way too rapidly for a young child to process the intellectual component of the Revolution and make sense of the wildly conflicting messages.

It wasn't just in the US. Check out the lyrics to this 1983 Kinks' tune: http://www.rhapsody.com/the-kinks/state-of-confusion/young-conservatives/lyrics.html
