this just happened: I asked a patient to replace her own partial denture because she has real flabby mucosa in the cheek area and it's real easy to grab it with the clasps, so generally I have the patient do it. Well, she was fumbling around and she said, "It's just like trying to place your diaphragm while your gynecologist is watching."

I had never heard that in over 30 years of pracitce...I believe I have finally heard everything.

After I finished turning about 4 colors of red, she reiterated her point all over again and I replied with the well-worn dental cliche..."Well, let me know which office you'd rather be in so I know how to adjust the chair."
