It looks like this "monster" called a "health care" bill is going to come up for a reconciliation vote (only 50 votes needed) in the senate.

As bad and insufficient as this bill is, it's a first step. However, the ReThugs and some Dems are trying to wipe abortion rights out of this bill.

Will the Democratic Party ever wake up? Will they ever remember who they represent? Will they ever recall that they are Democrats???

Assuming this bill comes up for a reconciliation vote, and a woman's right to abortion choice is demolished, then the Democratic Party can also consider itself as demolished.

I really don't believe that this will happen. But given everything the Dems have caved in on, who knows? Can the Democratic Party as a whole really be this stupid? Who knows?

Does anyone here on DU think the Dems would ever let this get through? And does anyone think Obama would sign it?
