The most perverse, cynical name for a product I have ever heard
Advertisements [?]
That highly toxic stuff BP used a million+ gallons of to make the gulf oil spill look less awful on the ocean's
surface, but only made the whole stew more toxic, more dispersed and less visible to the naked eye from the surface?

Corexit. I doubt the name is a coincidence.

PR problems with an oil spill?

Corexit "corrects it."

Maybe the name has something to do with the stuff's chemical makeup, I don't know. But even if it
does, they could have named it something else. I think it was named by some smug paper pusher at
BP who thought they were being clever.

Corexit does NOT "correct it." It doesn't correct anything, apparently, if what it has done in the gulf
is any indication.

To conform with American Truth in Advertising laws, I hereby propose an immediate re-naming of their product: Fuxit.
