1. Sorry. Not buying it....
I appreciate the thought you put into this and it's well written. I just disagree with it.

Democrats (with only maybe 1 or 2 exceptions in the senate and maybe a dozen or so in the house) are spineless because they start from a point of capitulation and concession and then only get pulled even further away from what they want.

They have no problem not standing up for their core constituencies, and they have no problem internalizing every right wing media argument and talking point about themselves.

They've ceded almost every important discussion to republicans, most glaringly the misguided notion that to be "tough" you have to offer tacit or explicit approval of military action and total fealty to the military industrial complex, and also especially their tacit agreement that trickle down economics works and every major economic plan must start from the point of discussion that giving money to and cutting taxes to corporations and the top tax brackets is good for the economy and every major economic action must always stem from and never stray from that basic principle.

There are about a million other reasons but their continual betrayal of their core principles in pursuit of appearing "strong" is what has ironically made them appear weak and spineless.
