So what are you going to do?

I have seen and heard the justifiable anger at the ever more intrusive searches being conducted by TSA in our airports. People complain, write, scream, shout, but the fact of the matter is that nothing we say or write is going to change things.

There is only one way to change these intrusive TSA procedures, with our wallets. I am urging to not fly, and make it clear to your representatives in DC why you are not flying. I know that many folks have to fly due to jobs, but the fact of the matter is that if we stopped flying for vacations, travel, pleasure, the airline industry would take a huge hit. Once they start feeling it in the wallet, then they will start pushing the folks in DC to ease up on the invasive searches.

I've not flown since before 911. I stopped flying because of the environmental impact flying has. Every time you fly you personally have put 1,500 tons of carbon into the atmosphere. After 911, as TSA ramped up the intrusive security, I also decided that I didn't want to subject myself to that kind of invasion of my privacy.

There are alternatives. You can drive, ride a bus, or perhaps my favorite, use the train.

These intrusive searches are only going to get worse unless we all take a stand. Doing anything else besides hitting them in the wallet is going to be ineffective. So take a stand and stop flying. It is good for you, good for our country, good for our environment.

Otherwise, next up is the cavity search. You think I'm joking, just wait.
