The Dems won't admit Impeachment is on the table because that would create a massive assault of negative reactions. Meanwhile 36 investigations ....

The Reps won't admit Cheney is their candidate because that would start all the negative campaigning. They know a candidate's negative numbers are the most important and difficult to overcome (hence, the swiftboat campaign at a key moment in 2004). Cheney is just stalling announcing to avoid providing more time to increase the negative numbers, his own swiftboating. When the party and the nation need his experience, he will make the sacrifice and run. A giant military crisis, of course, to time the announcement, would be an ideal context.

Check out the PowerPoint that Rove was using, in violation of the Hatch Act. It was shown to promote R candidates in 2008, and it shows how war time benefits the incumbent party. The war in Iraq--or where ever it will be in 2008--is already built into the White House's political election planning. That also infers that Cheney is the guy.
