1. There is no armed insurgency;
- There would be if blackwater tried it
2. Very few "ordinary" Americans could build IEDs;
- Oh, you'd be surprised on that one.
3. Very few Americans own automatic weapons like the AK-47;
- Again, you'd be surprised on that one. And as soon as someone tried something like that, the guns would flow in. Oh, how the guns would flow in.
4. Many Americans would go along with the new dictatorship;
- enough would not
5. Resistance would be localized, not widespread;
- ORLY?
6. The mercenaries would be fluent in the language;
- True, but they would say all the wrong things.
7. The government's propaganda would be much more effective, as most Americans would want to believe the best
- This is a valid point, and the propaganda would work for a while. But as things got worse, that would no longer be true
8. Simply turning off utilities would render many Americans helpless.
- Very true. But it would not render helpless the ones the government need worry about.
