that Abramoff was active in Alabama. Because Abramoff was so close to Rove, Abramoff's activities in Alabama on behalf of Siegelman's opponent, Ryan, is, Siegelman suggests, a part of the evidence of Rove's involvement in the Alabama race. Rove, of course, mischaracterizes the statements of those who are making the allegations against him. That is the typical strategy of a person who can't disprove the facts underlying the statements of opponents.
