36. So Congress doesn't believe in Peak Oil?
Edited on Thu Jul-03-08 09:59 AM by Leopolds Ghost
How come they wanted people to invest in stocks and drive poor people out
of neighborhoods in order to continue justifying speculative hysteria
among yuppies in THOSE markets? Oh, I forgot, because "MOST PEOPLE would
Benefit from Gentrification, as long as you're not stupid enough to avoid
the benefits of homeownership, such as constantly rising home prices over
the long term." But with oil, we aren't supposed to apply the same Ponzi
scheme logic that drives the rest of the market, even though oil is
ACTUALLY a limited resource? they want to ensure gas remains 1/3 the cost
it is anywhere else but China and OPEC states where gas is subsidized...
and they're willing to prohibit people from betting that peak oil will
CONTINUE to drive down conventional gas production. So now in addition
to being civil libertarians, Congress is environmentally on-the-ball too.
:sarcasm:
