I have just been informed that Former US Senator George McGovern has cancelled his appearance at The Progressive magazine's 100th anniversary celebration in May. According to sources at the magazine, the Senator cited a "scheduling conflict" for his reason for cancelling his appearance.

As I posted HERE, McGovern broke with the labor movement this past summer by writing an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal against the Employee Free Choice Act. He parroted the anti-EFCA line claiming the act would eliminate the right of workers to have a secret ballot vote as an option to join a union. It would not: it would give the option for a vote to the workers where it is currently the option of the boss.
