Mr. McConnell, it is with great despair that I write you. I'm disappointed you and your party will not be supporting the Public Option. I am a registered democrat who is blind in one eye.

I'm convinced without a shadow of a doubt that if I had healthcare under the Clinton administration, I would have never lost my eyesight. You may dismiss my words but I want you to listen very carefully to my request and do not dismiss my request because I'm a democrat. I want you to listen to me as if I'm a republican.

If you were in my shoes and you did not have health insurance and the doctor told you that you are going to loose your eyesight what would you want to do? Would you want to make sure that i got the coverage that I needed because it would save my eyesight or would you allow me to be a victim of the insurance companies who would deny me coverage because I have a pre-existing condition and yes sir Mr. McMconnell they will treat this as a pre-existing condition and deny me.

Now, knowing that, would you then be willing to compromise with the democratic party. I understand if at the end of the day you vote no, but please keep my story in mind when you do. Because I had no insurance, and for people who voted in favor of the insurance companies, I'm blind today. I'm angry at both parties and its time you remember that you went to Washington because of us.
