16. It is probably R12. But if it is, R134 is not a safe cure.
By safe, I mean it's likely to be a waste of money because the R134 molecule is much smaller than the R12 molecule and in many cases the stuff just leaks out in a few days. Real R134 systems have special seals and barrier hoses to deal with emissions.

I have used Enviro-Safe refrigerant successfully in several older AC systems. It is available on Ebay, is legal to use without a license and does not cost more than R134. Freeze-12 is another version of the stuff and is sometimes found in auto parts stores. Websites for both can be found with Teh Google.

As for the window, the parts are in the junkyard.
