That woman could have been the vice president of the United States, and, with John McCain at the helm, could have easily become president (there was a fairly good chance he would have kicked it during his term). That threat was undeniably huge and would have been utterly disastrous to this country. ACORN is small potatoes and doesn't wield nearly a fraction of the power the right wing imagines.
