189. OK. I totally "get" this. When I was phone banking for Obama, we would get prank calls all the time.
I mean, all the time, every day.

One evening I had been there for literally ten hours and I was cranky, hungry and bored.
I was especially tired of hearing registered democratic voters talk about how, now that McCain had picked Sarah Palin, they weren't so against McCain after all.

A prank caller started getting routed to MY line because it was my lucky day.
It sounded like a 12 year old boy and I could hear adults in the background.
He asked me if Barack Obama was terrorist and I hung up.
He called back over and over, asking the same dumb questions.
Was he muslim, was he kenyan, etc.
After about ten calls, I answered, "yes. He is. Of course he is. Everyone KNOWS that!"
The kid was stunned, then I heard him tell his dad "dad! She just said he is!!"
Of course, the dad gets on the phone, maybe believing he's finally hit the jackpot about Obama's true self.

"Did you just say that Obama is a muslim?" the dad asked.
"No. I said he's a terrorist. Every liberal knows it because we had a great big meeting about it and we are all so happy to finally have a terrorist president. But its a secret so don't tell anybody."
The big shock here is that this grown ass man who had put his son up to making stupid prank calls may have actually believed me.
All the while he kept saying "really, really?"
Of course, I assumed he'd realize I was sarcastically making fun of such stupid questions.
After I hung up, I thought "great. He's really going to believe this BS about Obama."
But then I thought, wait. If he tells his friends and family that he called an Obama campaign head quarters and a person calmly admitted that Obama was a terrorist and it was a big, happy liberal secret, no one would believe him. They'd think he was a bigger idiot then ever and probably wonder why the hell he was calling in the first place.

Yeah, I shouldn't have said such things and I'm sure if the other volunteers at my table had heard, they would have been upset, reported me and I would have been reprimanded if not asked to not volunteer anymore. At the moment, it felt really good.

So, yeah, I could buy this woman's explanation.
I definitely want to see and hear more from these women.
