Rainbow PUSH Coalition Evacuated After Bomb Threat
Advertisements [?]

April 14, 2007 (CHICAGO) - The Reverend Jesse Jackson and employees of his Rainbow PUSH Coalition evacuated their South Side Chicago headquarters after a bomb threat was made.

Rainbow PUSH says the incident happened yesterday afternoon after Jackson held a news conference to discuss the firing of radio show host Don Imus.

The Chicago Police Department's bomb squad unit used trained dogs to search the building.

Jackson and the others were admitted back into the building after it was declared safe.

In a statement, Jackson said he believed the bomb threat was related to his vocal opposition to Imus' comments.

Last week, Imus called the Rutgers women's basketball team "nappy-headed hos," and Jackson's group held protests calling for Imus' ouster.

and a chicago radio station reported a couple hours ago that jackson just got another death threat on the phone at his house tonight. (at least that was my understanding--sounded like they said he has gotten 12 death threats over this imus business)

wonder who the freaks (or freepers) are behind this crap?
