What if *he* has no problems with her having a relationship with another woman, but neither of them want anyone else to know? Maybe *they* don't consider it as her "having an affair", so she can deny having an "affair" and not be lying.

For the record, Jan Schakowski also proclaimed her husband's innocence in a fraud case... just a few months before he pleaded guilty to the charges and spent 5 months in prison. Her denial was more of an attack against Ms Edmonds, trying to equate her with birthers and conspiracy theorists.

Politicians lie... all the time... to cover their own asses.

just sayin'...
