12. In 1968 we had over 500,000 troops in Vietnam, a country half the size of Afghanistan.
We all know how that ended. Obama is smart enough to know the path he is heading down. No matter who started Afghanistan, he will own it and it will be his for history to dissect.

Add 40,000 troops, then another, then another. It's a trap and will not work. Arm, support, and back the Afghanis and if they really want their country they should be able to defeat the Taliban who are not getting similar support from any world superpower.
