7. Before the age of credit, people had to s.a.v.e.
for big purchases. The economy didn't have room for as much pure garbage as it has in the last ten years and it generally grew at a more even pace.

SO - people either have to get used to a more modest standard of living OR they have to support fixing the financial sector so credit flows freely again.

Fixing health care helps our businesses compete globally, because the rest of the world really does have the right to have businesses (not be exploited by our corporate lords) and eventually they would overtake us anyway, with or without outsourcing, etc.
