32. By thinking that way, I think you are limiting yourself.
My grandmother only had a sixth grade education and she was definitely not hateful. She was well read and had more intelligence than you would expect. If she was alive today, she would lay waste of your argument in no time flat and she would do it with a smile. You would still like her when she finished too.

Actually, you would like her even more after she finished. She just had that way about her. She was a lifelong Democrat and accepted and loved my gay aunt when she came out way back in the 1950s in the rural south. She was definitely before her time. She barely made $350 a month in the 1980s. Yet, she still found a way to feed any poor, hungry kids, regardless of race, in the neighborhood if she noticed them.

You are close to right in a way though, because the problem with those hateful people you are talking about is willful ignorance. Their education level can be anywhere from no formal training to a doctorate. The difference is that the hateful ones refuse to learn anything they do not agree with.

They are willfully ignorant and proud of it.

They are just looking for an enemy. They have problems in their lives. So, like many people, they blame entire groups of people they barely know for their problems.

It is a classic divide and conquer strategy that has been used by rulers for centuries. Keep the citizenry fighting amongst themselves and they won't fight the rulers.

Why do you think any government form you ever fill out asks about your race, gender, age, hair color, eye color, and various other differentiating factors?

We are merely numbers to them, but they want us to constantly keep thinking about what divides us as opposed to what brings us together. It keeps us from going after them in any effective way when the corruption gets too widespread in our government. It has always worked and it still continues to work.

So, it wouldn't hurt you to think about this in a different way. It is not the education level. It is the willful ignorance that is the problem.
