Keep your animals with you. If you want some more security, get some pillows and wrap up in them, protect your head and vital areas. Or get under something stout downstairs, a heavy table or such.

I've been through eight tornadoes, and while they do cause destruction, they rarely cause death.

If your electric is still on, its a good sign.

If you hear something that sounds like the mother of all trains coming your way, hit the deck.
