... then there would be Americans more willing to engage in hunger strikes in protest of the US government's prison state, as well as the torture cells the US runs in Gitmo and elsewhere.

I haven't read stories here on DU about Americans hunger striking over US prisoners.

Unlike Cubans, as it is now, Americans dare not risk their own personal and family's security because the lack of freedom to do so.
