7. Minnesota and Wisconsin turned redder
Both the state senate and house went Republican from DFL. The Senate for the first time since 1972. The governorship is in recount with former US Senator Mark Dayton going to eventually win by a narrow margin (few thousand votes). Wisconsin went really red, governorship, Fingold out, both parts of the state legislature, and they are down to only 3 Democratic members in the house.
