An Observation On The Speech Scheduling Kerfuffle
Advertisements [?]

Quite obviously, if the President had requested a time slot prior to the opening NFL kickoff, what we would have right now is a full throated excoriation of him having selected that time in order to squelch a Republican response since NFL airtime is inviolate.

So, instead, he had the GOP leadership sign off on that time slot.

I really don't see why anyone is upset with the way this went down.

He gets a bigger audience than he would otherwise, the House leadership approved it, and the GOP doesn't get a response.

What's not to like?
