I would agree. I was impressed that he attempted (while being rudely shouted down) to make the connection during his speech at the end of HCR debate last Sunday, that "pro-life" meant more than just anti-abortion. It also included issues that affected the health and well being of children AFTER they were born. He went on to say that only the Democratic party really cared about these issues, and as a result his party was more in tune of what "pro-life" is all about. I could tell the Republicans really hated that remark. I'm pro-choice myself, and I've always believed that most conservatives are "pro-birth" and not much else, because they essentially believe you're on your own once birth has taken place. At least Stupak's beliefs include assistance as needed to ensure continuity for the well-being of humans beyond that point. I had doubted his sincerity before that speech, but I no longer do. Even if I disagree with him on the mattter of reproductve rights, or whether an Executive Order was really necessary.
