18. Let's see now
Truman was replaced by Eisenhower, who overthrew democratically elected governments from Guatemala to Iran, blocked elections in Vietnam, and vastly accelerated the arms race before warning us--belatedly, in fact in his very last speech as president--about the military industrial complex which he did so much to foster. He also gave us Richard Nixon as vice president....

who then succeeded LBJ, kept us in Vietnam an extra four years, bombed, invaded, and basically destroyed civil life in Cambodia, and over threw the democratically elected government of Chile (and gave us Spiro Agnew as vice president and Reinquist as Supreme Court justice). Then too, there was that little to-do at the Watergate....

Given past results, this really doesn't sound to me like very good advise.
