Reply #5: Here's what I expected and also what we deserved [View All]

I expected pretty much what's happened to date. Doesn't matter why either. But here's what I
believe the citizens deserved:

- an immediate end to torture as a national policy;
- a rapid withdrawal from Iraq and Afghanistan;0
- a strong jobs program, very strong, to get things going;
- catastrophic medical care for all and then a plan for rational health reform;
- a national cram down for all mortgages to reset them at fair rates, eliminating the distortions
from the real estate bubble;
- attention to the poor and helpless, who are suffering most in the recession;
- strong financial support for education;
- expansion of social security benefits and the end of ripping off payroll taxes to fund war and other
military efforts;
- bring the troops home from the 800 foreign installations;
- real tax reform with restoration of the payroll tax on the ultra high incomes;
- a infrastructure initiative to fix the nation and kick in a obs program; and
more pro citizen programs, which we can start and afford at any time we want.
