1. A solid victory.
It was a victory for the good guys. Not the triumphant victory that was hoped for, but a solid, significant victory. It was quite an uphill battle to convince districts that elected Republicans in 2008 (a banner year for Democrats) that they should now change horses in mid-stream, dump the Republican they elected, and bring in a Democrat instead. We convinced two districts, and almost convinced a third.

The media is painting it as a Republican victory because the GOP *only* lost two seats, and not three. Well, losing two state senate seats is not a victory.

The GOP's grip on the state senate is no longer secure. There is one GOP senator who's an old-fashioned Republican - that is, he's a person of integrity who tries to do what's best for his constituents. He has previously put up resistance to the Walker agenda. It'll be interesting to see what happens next.

The spirit, dedication and organization that dethroned two Republican state senators last night has a good chance of successfully recalling Walker in 2012.
