She was put on the ticket in 2008 as a joke by our corporate overlords along with sadsack McCain. The overlords decided that the best way to shut up the American public that was sick of Bush was to let them have their Obama. Then make them sorry. The Republicans in Congress are working to that script. Because Pres Obama hasnt done them too much damage they may wait until 2016 to bring out Jeb "the smart son" Bush. At that time Karl will make minced-meat of the clowns pretenders to the crown.

I agree that Palin is relevant to the tea-bagger gullibles. But they will follow whoever the overlords tell them too.
The Republicans (those in power not the gullibles) arent going to elect a female, especially one as uppity as Palin. They will keep her around until she isnt needed then kiss her goodbye.
