Rice got it wrong, says Czech newspaper
A leading Prague newspaper on Thursday highlighted the alleged historical errors and insults written by United States secretary of state nominee Condoleezza Rice in her 1984 book about communist Czechoslovakia's Soviet-backed army.

The Lidove Noviny newspaper chided Rice for calling Czechs "passive" and claiming Czechoslovakia would not resist foreign invaders, such as Soviet-backed Warsaw Pact troops in 1968.

But the newspaper said Rice defended herself by saying: "My book about the Soviet Union and the Czechoslovak army has always been widely accepted."

I know this is slightly off topic, but I just returned from a trip to Prague and it is quite a remarkable city. It is magnificent with an enormous amount of history. I highly recommend a visit. No, I do not work for the Prague tourism board. : )

I was actually there on election night.I drownd my sorrows in some local Gambrinus beer. Very good and very inexpensive.

In case anyone wonders, they really hate * there. There were posters of him all over town with blood on his face and the words "Stop the Evil." I really kind of felt like we let them down.

My first thought is that there may well be a relationship there, if only platonic. He maybe feels she's more his level of intelligence than Pickles , (don't laugh - even she must have more between the ears than Laura - and he's no brainiac either, but he thinks he is).
