Protesters denounce Bush before he arrives for Apec summit
SANTIAGO, Chile (AP) - About 25,000 protesters opposed to U.S. President George W. Bush, the war in Iraq and unfettered capitalism marched through the Chilean capital just before the American president arrived on his first trip abroad after winning a second term.

The march Friday in response to the annual Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit was peaceful, but riot police used water cannons and tear gas earlier to break up an unauthorized demonstration by hundreds of rock-throwing protesters.

10. You're right. They haven't been kept in the dark about U.S. control
of the grotesque military coup which killed the very well elected President Salvador Allende during the sorry Presidency of Richard Nixon and his malevolent assistant Kissinger. We helped them realize decades of complete terror, and the loss of tens of thousands of suspected "leftists" who were tortured then disposed of in viciously brutal ways, including being thrown from airplanes and helicopters.

WHO COULD BLAME THEM FOR BEING FURIOUS?

11. No,I didn't see that.....
Plus,I don't watch CNN that much anymore...in fact I watch the local news, and CBS's world news. What I watched so far,no one mentioned protesters. How could they anyway? Bu$h is purer, and more greater than GOD. :eyes:

14. I understand....
I didn't think you directed that at me personally. I stay pissed off. In fact,I've been pissed off since the idiot stole the election the first time. Frustration seems to be the norm these days.I know I carry it around with me all the time when it comes to bu$h,repukes and the repuke thugs. Those people are despicable,no other way to describe them. :puke:

APEC Summit Triggers Protests in Chile

6 minutes ago World - AP

By EVA VERGARA, Associated Press Writer

SANTIAGO, Chile - Protesters opposing the visit of President Bush (news - web sites) to the Asian-Pacific Economic forum clashed with police early Saturday and stray gunfire left at least three people wounded in working class districts across the Chilean capital.

The protests began after President Bush arrived Friday for the 21-nation forum. Gunfire left one gas station attendant with a bullet wound to the leg in northern Santiago, while a police officer in a southern suburb also was hit by a stray bullet, Police Cmdr. Enrique Rivera said.

It was unclear who was shooting, but police said they heard occasional bursts from shotguns and small-caliber weapons. Rivera said a third person also was wounded, but none of the injuries was life-threatening.
