Free Parking May End For D.C. Employees
The District government should eliminate free and subsidized parking for its employees, a task force that explored ways to reduce congestion downtown recommended yesterday.

D.C. Mayor Anthony A. Williams and Department of Transportation Director Dan Tangherlini said the recommendation was worth exploring. Williams and Tangherlini said free parking encourages city employees to drive to work instead of using public transportation.

3. Parking signs in D.C.
Edited on Tue Nov-23-04 08:17 PM by Goathead
They are friggin' confusing as hell. I thought I was parked legally outside the Corcoran Gallery and walked into the museum. I even walked right by the cops that gave me the citation. I come out one hour later and BAM! $100 parking ticket. That hurt real bad, still stings!

4. Where the streets intersect at odd angles.
Why anybody would want to drive or park in DC beyond me. I thought Austin traffic was bad until I visited the District. At least I took the bus and subway.

The rent and general cost of living is bad enough there as it is.
