UNICEF---Official statement --for children in Iraq
Official statement
Bellamy speaks out for children in Iraq
NEW YORK, 23 November 2004 – UNICEF today again expressed deep concern about the devastating impact the hostilities in Iraq is having on the overall well-being of the country’s children.

“This protracted fighting and instability is wreaking havoc on Iraqi children,” UNICEF Executive Director Carol Bellamy said.

In addition to the ongoing difficulties of living amidst daily violence and widespread insecurity, children are also suffering from the inadequacy of basic services such as water and sanitation, Bellamy said.

“Latest reports are showing that acute malnutrition among young children has nearly doubled since March 2003,” she said. “This means that hundreds of thousands of children are today suffering the severe effects of diarrhoea and nutrient deficiencies.”

2. Create an Iraqi orphan, then adopt one
I am sure they mean well, but consider how this looks in the middle east.

5. adopt one

many children are separated by death, but many just haven't been found by parents still living! war orphans belong to their country men and women, not to ours. I do not believe war orphans should be adopted out of their contry by the enemy.

4. Do you think scrub will adapt a child, a few thousand children

I hate that man so much for the evil he has brought into this world. I hope God strikes him down and puts him in a prison for life like he deserves. Still that would be to good for the likes of schrub and his texas style posse. I spit on him, I spit on him.

6. Conditions are worse in Iraq today.
Well done, Commander Bunnypants. Iraqi lives were shitty enough under the backbreaking sanctions. But since BushCo invaded, conditions are even worse. I wonder how the Iraqis are liking their freedom now?
