Senator (Santorum) denies owing district (for his kids Cyber School)
http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/tribune-review/trib/pittsburgh/s_276236.html

U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum said Tuesday he does not plan to reimburse the Penn Hills School District for $100,000 in taxpayer money spent to enroll his kids into a cyber charter school.

"Why do I owe them money for a bill they approved that was lawful? I don't owe them anything," Santorum said outside the City-County Building, Downtown, where he was summoned to jury duty with his wife, Karen.

<snip>

Santorum said his family spends the holidays in Pittsburgh. But he and Karen usually stay with his wife's parents in a larger home next door to his home on Stephens Lane.

Karen Santorum's niece, Alyssa DeLuca, and her husband, Bart DeLuca, live in his Stephens Lane house. Both the DeLucas and the Santorums list the residence as their official address for voter registration.

2. He needs to be prosecuted
just like we would be, if we committed fraud. He's worse, because he stole, what he could of easily paid for. I'm tired of these people that think, there is one set of laws for them, and another for the serfs.

5. I wonder if Ricky's screwing PA taxpayers had anything to do with
him being called for jury duty? Not to worry, no criminal defense attorney and no plaintiff's attorney would want that prick on their jury.

PA Treasurer. She was a Dem switched to Repub, and switched back to Dem last year. Not my idea of an ideal candidate for many reasons.

8. Those kids live in Virginia
He has committed several crimes by first listing his primary residence as Penn Hills, which is clearly a lie, and then by using that faked residency for financial gain.

This ain't going away, Ricky.

13. So ... does he even have a legal residence in the state of PA ?
How can he qualify to represent PA if he does not have legal residence there. Reminds me of Cheney living in Texas and claiming he was a Wyoming resident.

24. Santorum violates Rick Santorum holds office illegaly
Article I, Section 3, Clause 3 of the U.S. Constitution:

No Person shall be a Senator who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty Years, and been nine Years a Citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an Inhabitant of that State for which he shall be chosen.

http://www.washingtonblade.com/blog/index.cfm

It appears that Santorum moved his family to Leesburg, Va., a suburb of the District of Columbia, after last winning election to the Senate in 2000. They continue to own a home there, and claim it for the purpose of being registered to vote. However, they don't live there. Reading between the lines of the Pittsburgh story linked above, it looks like they are renting out their "residence" to two other people.

It's a strange case of political turnabout. In his initial House race
against Rep. Doug Walgren in 1990, challenger Santorum attacked the
incumbent from Mt. Lebanon for buying a house and raising his children in McLean, Va. Now Rick Santorum of Leesburg, Va., is saying that he is and he isn't a resident of Pennsylvania.

Also, I don't think that Walgren used taxpayer dollars illegally.
He MUST LEAVE PA PERMANENTLY!!!

<snip> from Post-Gazette:

It's a strange case of political turnabout. In his initial House race against Rep. Doug Walgren in 1990, challenger Santorum attacked the incumbent from Mt. Lebanon for buying a house and raising his children in McLean, Va. Now Rick Santorum of Leesburg, Va., is saying that he is and he isn't a resident of Pennsylvania.

http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/04324/414066.stm

<snip>

The Penn Hills School District asked Sen. Rick Santorum a $38,000 question. That is whether his children are residents of the municipality to the point that their educations should be paid for by Penn Hills taxpayers.

<snip>

Five Santorum children have been home-schooled at their house in Leesburg, Va., through the Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School, an education paid for by the Penn Hills district to the tune of $38,000 a year, until it became apparent recently that they don't live in Penn Hills.

The senator's office issued a statement two days ago saying he and his wife, Karen, are withdrawing their children from the cyber school. But that doesn't mean they'll be attending any of the brick-and-mortar schools of the Penn Hills district either. The commute from the Santorum home in Leesburg, Va., would be onerous.

All of which begs a much bigger question: Is Rick Santorum R-Pa. or R-Va.? No one should represent Pennsylvania in the U.S. Senate because he once lived here or because he visits all 67 counties every year. A traveling salesman can do that.

Article I of the U.S. Constitution says, "No person shall be a Senator ... who shall not, when elected, be an Inhabitant of that State for which he shall be chosen." Rick Santorum last won election in November 2000, when he owned the house at 111 Stephens Lane in Penn Hills plus a house in Virginia. Where he was an "inhabitant" at the time only he can say.
dent of Pennsylvania.

Edited to fix word in headline.

28. Santorum commune has another member and bedroom
http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/04329/416647.stm

<snip>

The municipality yesterday inspected the home he and his wife, Karen, own on Stephens Lane and granted them an occupancy permit.

<snip>

Flinn said the residents are listed as Alyssa DeLuca, Rick Santorum's niece; her husband, Bart, who is not related to Penn Hills Mayor Anthony DeLuca Jr.; and a child.

<snip>

Flinn said she was shown the interior of the home and it has three bedrooms. The Allegheny County real estate Web site lists only two bedrooms, but on Monday, more than 10 days after published reports began, Christine Shott, spokeswoman for the senator, said she wanted to clarify that it was three, not two, bedrooms.

<snip>

"Sometimes, a couple of my kids stay over there . We get to stay at grandma's house, and a couple of kids go over and stay with their cousin. To me, that's a family situation.

"I don't know what people's business that is, to be very honest with you. The fact is, I own a home, pay taxes, reside here, go to jury duty. To me, this is much ado about nothing.

29. What's good for the goose...
What if we formed a PAC that rented ultra-cheap timeshare condos for $1/month to Democrats so they could use those addresses to register to vote in battleground states?

We could call it Santorum Gardens Condominiums.
