Ukraine Liberal Calls for Strike, Civil War Warning - Reuters

KIEV (Reuters) - Ukraine opposition leader Viktor Yushchenko on Wednesday called for a national strike that would halt transport and shut factories in protest at the declaration that his Moscow-backed rival had won election as president.

Outgoing President Leonid Kuchma, meanwhile, warned that civil war could "become a reality" in the country and he asked the world community to stay out of Ukraine's affairs.

Yushchenko said that the naming of Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovich to succeed Kuchma, after an election marked by mass cheating, brought Ukraine to "the brink of civil conflict."

"We do not recognize the election result as officially declared," Yushchenko told tens of thousands of supporters massed in Kiev's main square as heavy snow fell.

Than the entire population of the Imperial Subjects of Amerika.

Putin just did to them what Bush* did to us.

But they aren't rolling over for it!

It's nice to see hopeful news from the Free World. Ukrainia might not exactly be in it any more than Imperial Amerika is, but at least their citizenry is acting like they deserve to be free.

Unlike the bootlicking Imperial Subjects of Amerika (and I guess that includes all of us, sadly).

If the west wants to fight over Ukraine, Russia's not gonna just go away.

Neither side seems ready to, really. Think that if the opposition wins one way or another - ballot or revolution - that Russia will just drop the issue forever?

people....then, I look around here and I wonder what happened to Americans??? Too fat and happy?? (Probably not really happy when they take the time to think about it, if they ever really think about things).

I say we all boycott the holiday shopping season. By nothing more than you usually would. If you must buy something, buy from local small businesses and not corporate giants.

It's for America, folks.
